NEIGHBORHOODACTIVITIES

Providing Neighborhood Activities

There are neighbors of ours the struggle with life in some rather significant ways. Some can’t find enough resources to feed their families and pets. Some have things that are broken and are unable to get them repaired or purchase new ones. Some have hurts, habits, or hangups that keep them from living a healthy life. Some have questions they can’t answer as they deal with those in their families who struggle with addictions. We will provide support, guidance, and hope for our neighbors who struggle.

Zumba

We want all of our neighbors to be healthy. So join us for a great work-out to some great music among welcoming and friendly people. And what's even better?  It is FREE.

Pet Food

Our pets are our family also. But what happens when we have to make the choice between paying for our personal medications and feeding our animals? Or between feeding them and ourselves? In order to free up needed family funds, we provide free pet food, mostly for dogs, on the first Saturday of each month at CrossRoads Church, from 9-11am. We are partnering with the Good Samaritan Network of Hamilton County to provide this service.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a recovery program aimed at all "hurts, habits, and hang-ups", including but not exclusive to: high anxiety; compulsive behaviors; co-dependency;  sex addiction; financial dysfunction; drug and alcohol addictions; and eating disorders. This is much more than a simply a 12-step program for those with addictions. For anyone who struggles with issues of any kind, this program is for you. Starting in the spring of 2018, we will be offering this free to our neighbors.

Repair Café

Repair Cafés are free meeting places where people repair things together. Here you’ll find tools and materials to help you make repairs you need on clothes, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, appliances, toys, et cetera. You’ll also find expert volunteers, with repair skills in all kinds of fields. People bring their broken items from home. Together with the specialists they start making their repairs in the Repair Café. It’s an ongoing learning process. If you have nothing to repair, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair need. Starting spring of 2018, Repair Cafés will provided for our neighbors.
